Iran’s ‘Dash Akol’ directed by Hajar Mehrani has been set to participate at the 2018 edition of the In-Short Film Festival in Nigeria.
The animated short film is about Dash Akol, a middle-aged man, who falls in love with a 14-year-old orphan girl named Marjan. It is an adaptation of a short story written by prominent Iranian writer Sadeq Hedayat.
In addition to ‘Dash Akol’, another Iranian animated short film called ‘Pet Man’ will also vie at the international section of the festival, according to Iran’s Documentary and Experimental Film Center.
Directed by Marzieh Abrar-Paydar, ‘Pet Man’ tells the story of a pet shop owner who falls asleep in the shop and has a nightmare in which he sees himself in a scary cage with other animals. Trying to break the cage, he faces a barrier every time.
The Nigerian festival will be held on December 27-29 in the city of Lagos.
